A note from Tom

It doesn't seem like long ago that I was just finishing work on this site... it was a big undertaking and I was proud of how it turned out.

Now, it appears that my work will be replaced as new management opts for a different business model and yet another makeover. I couldn't let something that was such a big part of my professional life vanish forever, so here it is, archived as best I could manage. Thanks for looking.

No mention of this site could go without acknowledging Leon Unruh, Alaska.com's editor and writer. I built a big site, Leon had to fill it up with information that people would care about. I'd like to think I did more than create a nice container, but Leon had the job of making sure people would find their visit worthwhile.

And, he usually humored me and my "design nazi" tendencies. Thanks, Leon -- we were a pretty good team.
