Phases of the lunar eclipse as photographed from Lake Goodwin, Washington, on October 27, 2004. We got home from a trip into Seattle after it had already begun, which is why the first phases are missing. I had intended to shoot the moon as it came back into light, but by that time a haze had developed and I couldn't get a sharp image. The first shots were handheld, then a tripod was set up to get the rest. Shot with a Canon Digital Rebel in Auto mode with a 70-300mm Sigma zoom lens. © 2008 Tom Twigg
